Celebrating My Birthday

21 June 2016

Happy Birthday to myself! Today I give to you the post all about my birthday, one I've been wanting to write for ages, because it's my first birthday post since I started this blog. Reaching any age is a milestone, even if it's not double digits, 18, 21, or even 100, the birthdays that would typically be pre-typed/written onto a balloon or candle or what not. This post today is kind of a 'what I got for my birthday' but also a post of thanks and appreciation towards those who sent me messages via Facebook/text/Snapchat/Instagram or gave me a gift and/or a card.

Disclaimer: This post is, in no way, intended to brag. I decided to make this as a way of thanking those who were kind enough to give me gifts/cards for my birthday or send me a message. I love reading these kinds of posts or watching videos like this on blogs and YouTube, so I thought it would be quite nice to make one of my own.

Somer of the beauty items I kindly received include a few products from the ZoellaBeauty 'Sweet Inspirations' range. Ever since this range was announced I'd been very eager to try out some of the products as I really wanted some new bath and body things. There were some things I wanted to try more than others, and the things I received were the things I wanted to try the most. Can I just say, the smell of this new range is unbelievably good. The products I got are Bath Latte, Le Fizz, and Sweet Inspirations body mist, as well as another bottle of the Foam Sweet Foam shower gel from the Tutti Fruity range, which I was so happy to receive as I've just run out of my other one and really wanted another bottle.

Another body mist I got from one of my best friends is the I Love Raspberry and Blackberry body spritzer. I fell in love with this instantly, and its fruity smell is very summery and refreshing. It literally smells like juice or sweets. From the same friend, I also got my favourite Lush bath bomb: 'Blackberry'.

My old purse was kind of breaking and it was difficult to fit change into it and be able to zip it up properly, so obviously I was over the moon to receive this replacement. It's just a New Look geometric purse with a clasp at the back and this gorgeous pink colour scheme and metal trim. This came inside a really pretty tan handbag, also from New Look.

Sticking with purse theme, I was fortunate enough to receive some money and couple of gift cards. Gift cards are so great, especially when you're in a shop and something catches your eye, and you have a gift card(s) to hand that you can just whip out at the till. I got two New Look gift cards and one for iTunes.

Moving on to something a little bit different, one of the best things I received was a book called The Sky is Everywhere. I'm always on the hunt for a new book to read, so when I heard about this one I was eager to see what it had to offer. This is a book about grieving and love, and I'm so excited to see what happens. I might do a review on it when I've finished, because I've never done a review before.

I really like this notebook I got from another of my closest friends. Notebooks, I find, are an essential due to their practicality, and it always helps if they're cute! Another friend got me a huge bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, which is so cool because I love the classic dairy milk, while another got me a lint roller, and it's so useful! I'd been wanting a lint roller for a long time because I find that a lot of fluff is attracted to my clothes and, being the owner of a cat, fur isn't an uncommon thing either.

Something I think is so cute and was fortunate to receive is the Instax Mini 8 polaroid camera in the shade Pink. I think these are so great for  making memories and they're very easy to use. With this, I got a really lovely brown leather-look case with a strap, and some white and rainbow-coloured frames.

I got really cute things from my other friends that include cookie cutters, travel bottles (which will both come in real handy!) a candle, 3 wax melts and a really cute bracelet, which I'm very grateful for. I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends.

And last, but definitely not least, is my Singer Start sewing machine. If you weren't already aware, I have a huge passion for sewing, and I just thought it would be so nice to have a machine in my room to use in my spare time and to practise techniques or work on projects.

Basically, what I wanted to do throughout this whole post is thank everyone who messaged me on my birthday or got me a card and/or gift. I hope you enjoyed this post, sorry it's quite late, but I wanted to make it the best it could be.
