Spring '18 Trend Edit

19 February 2018

Hi,

You might have noticed that, over the past couple of weeks, I've been rather inactive on the blog. This is because I've been so, so busy with a lot of things in my life lately and, unfortunately, blogging has had to take a bit of a step back. Luckily, though, I've finally got some time off and, as a result, much more time to sit and write some posts!

Today I wanted to discuss the new, main trends that have entered High Street stores recently, and my thoughts on which. After having been to a few as of late, I've definitely noticed new and popular trends amongst the likes of New Look, Miss Selfridge, Topshop etc, so I decided to look into them further and see what I thought.

The most noticeable trend in High St stores at the moment has to be the rise in bold shades, mostly reds, mustards and greens. I'm really liking some of the items coming into stores lately, although just because of my personal style, I wonder whether the trend is too bold for me. And while I am a huge fan of the colours, I can't say that you'll find me in a green or yellow blazer anytime soon!

I also wanted to talk about stripes. I am loving the stripe trend at the moment! However, currently I only own one striped piece: my culottes, which you've most likely seen floating around in photographs at some point. And although I love stripes, you'll probably only find me wearing vertically-striped clothing, as these seem to be the most flattering on me.

As with the stripes, another pattern trend that has rocketed lately is floral-printed clothing. I'm pretty sure I only possess one floral piece - this dress from Forever 21, which I love to bits due to the oriental vibes it has. Having said this, I'm quite picky when it comes to floral patterns; I would almost always choose large prints over smaller ones, although this depends on the item.

Accessories have taken a much larger role in fashion as of late, both in popularity and in size. By this, I am talking about the h u g e earrings, belts etc that have hit all High St stores. This is one of my favourite trends and, also, one of the most wearable everyday, in my opinion. I am especially liking the variety of large, bold earrings that I'm seeing at the moment.

And lastly, I wanted to mention trousers. Recently, there has been a massive incline in the variety of bottoms, besides jeans and your classic pieces. This trend is possibly my favourite of all the new styles, simply because I find looser trousers to be so flattering and versatile. I recently purchased this pair from New Look, which I absolutely love!

Fashion seems to be at an all time high at the moment, as there are so many new and varied trends in stores. Which one's your favourite at the moment?
