What I Loved in June/July 2016

1 August 2016

Hello, and welcome to another double-monthly favourites post! This time, however, I'm doing a collaboration with another blogger, Erin from Erin Aerial, a very good friend of mine. We had discussed doing a collaboration and thought that this would be a great time to do one. If you came to my blog from Erin's, welcome and thanks very much. I'd definitely recommend checking out Erin's blog.

And on that note, lets get started!

The first things I wanted to talk about are food-related. When I went to Primark a while ago, I had previously decided that I was on a serious health-kick(!) and would start eating dried fruit instead of chocolate as snacks. I was, therefore, over the moon when I discovered the Maui & Sons coconut flakes and banana chips. At only a pound each, I decided to just go for it and try them out. My verdict? They. Are. Amazing. I would definitely recommend trying them, as they're very flavoursome but still a great alternative to chocolate or sweets.

My mum held a PartyLite candle party back in June and I ordered some of their Pink Grapefruit tealights. I wanted a summery vibe in my room and the colour of them is perfect for my pastel scheme. If you like light, fruity scents, I would definitely recommend these.

Next, I wanted to draw your attention to my Primark sports bra. I'd been wanting to buy a sports bra for a long time, but wanted to buy a cheaper one just in case I didn't feel comfortable in them. So, while I was in Primark (on the same trip as before) I discovered their sports/workout range and instantly was attracted to their cheap and pretty clothing. I went for this coral and grey sports bra and I wear it a lot, especially for gymnastics and just working out in general.

On a different topic, I have been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 001/Transparent a lot these past couple of months. It really has been helping to reduce the shine on my face and smells really good. Because Rimmel is a highstreet/drugstore brand, the powder was extremely affordable for such good quality. It also makes the perfect on-the-go product due to its size.

I've also been getting a lot of use out of the Charlie body sprays. They're very reasonably-priced and smell so, so good. As far as I know, you can get them in both Superdrug and Boots, but I'm not sure about anywhere else. You can find them here.

I've really been inspired by Olivia Redfern's blog recently. She has such good content and posts frequently. Like me, she usually posts about beauty, fashion, food and life. You can find her blog right here if you want to check it out.

Two YouTubers I've been liking a lot in recent months are Gabriella/velvetgh0st and Bunny/Grav3yardgirl. Gabriella makes such good, interesting beauty, fashion and lifestyle videos and vlogs and Bunny has a really quirky, likeable nature.

I picked up the Tanya Bakes recipe book by Tanya Burr the other day, and I have to say it is so amazing to look through. It's inspired me to bake a lot more, and I did try some of the recipes but they sort of failed, but I WILL get it right eventually.

Recently I watched the new film Me Before You, based on the novel by JoJo Moyes, which I have also read, and I can honestly say it made me cry so, so much. If you love a good weep at a romance, or liked The Fault In Our Stars, I would definitely recommend this for you. I don't want to give anything away, but it's about a young woman called Louisa Clark, who becomes a carer for Will Traynor, an understandably-bitter man who became wheelchair-bound after a motorcycle accident two years before.

And that's all for this post! I hope you enjoyed, and be sure to check out Erin's post.
