What I Loved In January '17

5 February 2017

Hello February!

It's been so, so long since wrote my last 'favourites' post. In which case, I thought it'd be a good idea to write one now. Last year I started to write about the things I'd been loving over the period of two months, but this time round I wanted to write about my January favourites only. Surprisingly, I was able to compile quite a decent list of things I'd been liking over January, considering it was only one month.

The first item on my list, is the Sanctuary Hand Cream. I received this for christmas in a cute set of four, but this particular product has had the most use so far. Since I'm washing and rinsing hair at work a lot, applying this afterwards has really helped.

Another thing I've been loving is the Ted Baker mascara, from the Treasure Trove set. From another set I got for Christmas, this is one of the products that have had the most use so far. It came a t a great time, actually, since I was on the lookout for a new mascara. This particular one is great for adding colour, although you do have to build up the coats for more length and volume. However, it is a pretty decent mascara for what I was looking for, because it's not clumpy in the slightest, which I find quite difficult to find in a mascara.

Next is my Spectrum A14 brush. I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be for eyeliner, but it's working out alright for brows in my case. There's actually a story behind this brush. After raving about my Barbara Hofmann brush waaay back in my April May Favourites last year, I soon lost it, which I was quite annoyed about. At the Clothes Show in December, there was a Spectrum stand, and the brushes were going for quite cheap. In which case, I decided to buy this one. All I can say is, it's pretty amazing.

Sticking with the brow theme, I thought it'd be worth mentioning the Tanya Burr 'Perfect Brows' kit. I've been using this a lot recently and it's yet to disappoint. The shades are all very natural and easy to apply. If you're on the lookout for a new brow kit at a decent price, you might want to try this.

Something a bit different that I've been liking, is the Primark Velvet Matte lip crayon. This was definitely a hit-and-miss purchase, but it was definitely worth it. Like all matte lip products, it is slightly drying, but it lasts a decent amount of time on the lips and applies well.

Finally, something very different to everything in my favourites post, is my string of copper fairy lights. These are such a quirky addition to my bedroom window and make that a area seem a lot less bare. You can find so many different kinds of fairy lights on Amazon, but these in particular were the most appealing.

I hope you enjoyed reading about last month's roundup of favourites!

Lots of love,

Anya x
