Maybelline's Super Stay Polish, Reviewed

9 April 2017

Hi again!

I realise just how quiet it's been on this blog, over the course of last month. Purely because I was, once again, struck by the 'creative block'. For this reason I thought, why would I publish posts that I wasn't happy with, just for the sake of it? I'd much rather produce something genuine, even if it meant taking some time away.

Anyway, today I thought I'd kick off my first post of April with a little review of something that I was completely oblivious to beforehand. If you hadn't already guessed from the title, this something is the Maybelline Forever Strong nail polish, more specifically, in the shade 'Rose Poudre'.

For a while, I'd been wanting to buy a nail polish very similar to OPI's 'Dulce de Leche', only on the cheaper side. In which case, I decided to browse through drugstore brands. I've previously tried Rimmel polishes, but didn't find them that great. I can't put my finger on what was wrong. Anyway, I had the shade in mind but couldn't find it on any brand shelf, until I spotted this one from Maybelline, I hadn't previously tried any Maybelline nail polishes, so I didn't really know what to expect.

Having used it, I can definitely say I made a good choice. First of all, the texture is ideal; the polish doesn't go on gloopy or thick, which is a problem I have had with several other polishes. Plus, the pigmentation is very good and, when applied with a top coat, leaves a smooth, shiny finish.

However, a couple of things I will mention are that it did take three coats before the colour was completely opaque, plus it takes a while before the colour dries, so if you're not all that patient with polishes or in a rush, this may not be for you. Although for the very decent price I paid (£4.49), these factors did not matter as much.

Well, I hope you found this little review useful. I'm looking forward to blogging more frequently again after what seemed like a long time.
